So I was tagged by Fanta of Aucurls Naturelle to do a 25 random facts about me sometime last year and trust me I recorded the video several times. Almost every time I would forget something and would have to do it again until I finally just had to post what I had actually said in the video. No one is going to give me marks for it so even if I leave tonnes of info, it’s okay. So here is the one that I think is most comprehensive and I hope it gives you a chance to know who Ruth Mafupa of Natural Sisters is. Don’t forget to thumbs up if you like the video and if you would like to get more videos from me direct to your inbox, why don’t you go ahead and subscribe. You know what, subscribing makes my effort worth while because I will do videos knowing you are waiting for them.
Natural Moisture
Check my hand at short term protective styling on straight hair. I am not used to dealing with straight hair at all since I am always in twist outs and mini twists. Anyways, a skill can always be learnt considering I cannot really do much of twist -outs or mini twists because of my pitiful ends. Life has to move on right. I think this style came out really cute and I am proud of myself big time. Not bad for a novice. So here we go…
Big hugs to you!!

P.S this video was published some two weeks back. I just neglected to share on the blog.
You have probably heard about Rhassoul clay and its amazing benefits to both hair and skin. I will however still introduce you to it none the less. In case this is your first time to hear/read about this clay.
What is Rhassoul Clay
This time I told you before hand about the AIHE. Yes, this time I really did and for those who came to say hi, it was really nice to see you ther. It goes without saying, this year’s event was a lot different from last year’s one and I think it was more biased to natural hair care than last year’s one. That’s my opinion. You know what, the tide is really changing and many African women are taking charge of their hair and making sure they don’t cause unnecessary damages to their stresses. Natural hair was really like trending at this year’s event and I loved it. Before I go on rambling, let my start from the top. Right. The AIHE was split into 3 distinct events and I was privileged to be able to attend all 3. The first one was the Hair conference, then the Awards Evening and lastly the Expo.
Hey friends. I am so glad to be back to blogging again. I mentioned I would be MIA for a while so I could attend or rather concentrate on other aspects of my life. The thing is I have been studying for the past 4 years and this is my last year of study, at least for now. Yaaay! I am so excited and relieved as well. I was growing tired of it and since I was also working and studying only part time, it had taken longer than originally planned and I did not even have any social life for some time. Work and studying were really ruling my life and I could not do anything else without feeling guilty that I had stayed away from my books for too long. So, I am so relieved that is over now and I can do the things I love more. I have also decided to go into business full time so I quit my Engineering job so I could concentrate on Natural Moisture, my hair care business for now. I will tell you all the details on how I did that and the reason I had to do it in later posts.
Hair Update
Since I was so busy, more like close to insanity busy, my hair suffered quite a lot. You know hair and stress do not go well together and although the damage is not much, my hair made zero progress in the last 4 months or so. Not sure if the excessively dry winter we have just gone through is also to blame but I know I did not take care of my hair very well. As for the #HTL challenge, that train derailed together with my social life as I concentrated on my studies. I will just have to pick up from where I left off from and try and nurse my hair back to health again.
I have already started washing my hair every second day, inspired by the Maximum Hydration Method so that I can increase moisture levels in my strands. I am also wearing more wash n goes for the time being which I believe has a lot less manipulation than any other form of styling especially since I can’t seem to be able to keep a protective style for longer than 2 weeks. I will let you in on the details on how I am doing my hair in later posts and videos.
Thank you for coming by and if you have any questions or things you would like me to address, please put them in the comments below and I will do my best to attend to them.
Many blessings to you and yours
Today we have Serati Maseko in the house, giving us a glimpse of her natural hair journey and regimen. Yaay!! I have known Serati for some time now and she has such a sweet presence and a real pleasure to be around. She is so humble, easy going, very friendly and so beautiful. So is her hair. Read on and enjoy, comment, share and like. Share the love.
As you may know, Natural Sisters hosted a hair meet-up on the 7th of December 2013 together with Fatsani and Serati. It was a blast and The Lord blessed our quest to meet each other and share the knowledge on our natural hair. It was an unexpected success with all the glitches and time changes and all. However, some wonderful ladies managed to come and we had lot’s of fun and we discussed everything hair. The food, though not over the moon, was okay. Maybe I was expecting too much with the way Boston BBQ gets so filled with people and it is so difficult to find a booking. Anyway, we had a wonderful time and a Big Thank you to all attendees.
