Hey. Hope you had a restful holiday and you are ready for 2014. Mine was very restful and I kind of shut down all functions related to work, the blog and the online shop. So here I am, well rested and full of energy for the new year. I however did not neglect my hair during the holidays. I continued to give it the best care I can possibly give to it and I would remember this blog and the need to share the stuff I was doing to my hair so I still took some pics and recorded a few videos. One of the things I did was wear my hair in a wash n go. Yey, I finally did it.
leave-in conditioner
My answer to this one will be YES, YES and YES. I also thought it was not that important to use a leave-in conditioner after washing my hair and little did I know that was the deal breaker to my quest for longer healthier hair. Need I say more?
You have probably heard of grape seed oil (GSO) which comes from pressed grape seeds. You already know that it is odorless, colorless, has a non-greasy texture, relatively cheap and can be found in supermarkets and health stores wherever you go, well, today I want to share with you the wonderful benefits this light weight oil has to our hair.
Hey friends. My Afro is out and about. Enjoying the fresh air, though not sure about the cold Johannesburg mornings and the evening indoor heating. I removed the braids because they were so untidy just after two weeks having them. I am relieved to have them off and I kind of missed my hair as well. So I am happy to see my hair. Yey! I removed my braids on Monday night, and then wore my hair in a big bun the next day to work.
A close friend asked me if I could post on what I do to my hair from wash day to the next wash day, which is from Friday to Friday for me because I wash my hair once a week. The request came quite a while ago but I just could not figure out the best way to go around doing it. So here I am going to try my best to explain what I do to my hair most weeks because I switch and change sometimes depending on what is available, the weather and whether my hair is in a protective style or not. I may leave out some information but be assured, it will not be intentional.
I call it a journey because it is a real journey with its twists and turns, mountains and valleys, deeps and highs, straights and bends, most of the times I have no idea what awaits my hair the next day or week. 2012 has been awesome as far as my hair is concerned and I will be two years post relaxer come the 8th of January 2013.
So today is my wash day. I want to try to use my conditioner as a leave in conditioner and see how my hair responds. It is winter time in South Africa and our winters are normally very dry especially in Johannesburg where I live. My hair feels dry even though I am spritzing it with water and oils twice a day. I am using Tresemme Naturals.
