So today is my wash day. I want to try to use my conditioner as a leave in conditioner and see how my hair responds. It is winter time in South Africa and our winters are normally very dry especially in Johannesburg where I live. My hair feels dry even though I am spritzing it with water and oils twice a day. I am using Tresemme Naturals.
I am co-washing today. I normally bag my hair after applying my conditioner plus to slightly damp hair for about 30 minutes every wash day. My conditioner plus consists of:
• About 2Tbs of Tresemme Naturals conditioner
• 1 tsp of Olive oil
• 1 tsp Castor oil
• 1 tsp Amla oil
• 2 drops Rosemary oil
• 10 drops Jojoba oil
I am going to rinse it in the shower, bloat out excess water and will twist it afterwards while it is still damp. I will post some photos later and let you know how it works out.
Cheers!!!

[…] promised to post some photos showing the results of my wash day. Firstly, let me say, I am happy with the results and will be using my conditioner as a leave-in […]
Recently I have come across the process of pre-pooing and I tried it for the first time using extra virgin olive oil 4 days ago. I loved the way my hair felt and looked..very soft. I wrapped it instead of roller setting it and this is how it looked the next day…Will be looking for coconut oil to mix with the olive oil as I hear it’s the only oil that has been proven to penetrate the hair. http://blackgirllonghair.com/2011/10/penetrating-oils-vs-coating-oils-which-are-better/
Wow! your hair looks lovely. Coconut oil is indeed good for our hair and scientists say it is one of the oils closest to sebum which is the oil naturally produced by our scalp to oil the hair shaft. because of the coils in the structure of our hair, the sebum has a hard time trying to reach our ends and often it does not so applying coconut oil becomes very beneficial to the health of our hair. Coconut milk is even better because it penetrates more easily than the oil. Coconut oil, when applied excessively, tends to make hair feel like straw, so a very small amount is recommended for best results.
Thank you my sister. My biggest problem is I cant do smart presentable twist plus my hair is not that long, so I have to take it off when going to work. I used to heat blow my hair after wash but I really want to avoid heat on my hair. I will let you know as soon as I find other means. God bless you.
Hi Pershie. Be sure to handle your hair as minimum as possible because overmanipulation will damage your hair. So whatever you do, make sure you are not handling your hair more than it is necessary. You can do chunky flat twists overnight and remove them in the morning when going to work. They normally work even with shorter hair. You caan do this about 3 times a week. The other days you can just pick and shape your hair to look presentable. Maybe include a flower or really cute hair band. All the best and God bless you too
Thank you very much for the advice, will do my best and update you. Be blessed.
Hello, Im looking for this product here in Cape town, can you help me, where can I find it?
Heard they have pulled it off the market because of some false claims. Not sure if that’s the reason it’s no longer available in shops. My hair loved it though.
