Healthy Lifestyle Benefits Your Hair.

by Evenes Ruth Mafupa

Ever heard of the term, “a healthy mind equals a healthy body” and “healthy hair starts with a healthy body”? Yes anyone? No. Okay. I have, and several times for that matter. This made sense to me even the first time I saw/read it but making all the necessary changes to my lifestyle is where the challenge was. It is a daunting task I know. I have been there. You know you have to eat well, exercise, drink water, sleep well and find ways to deal with stress for the optimum health of your body but to do it is so overwhelming for most people me included.

So I have decided to do a series of healthy lifestyle points that need focusing on to achieve a healthy body, in turn a healthy mane. I am going to do five posts each focusing on a healthy body/mind to help get the information out bit by bit for better processing. Take this more like a challenge.

Many of my friends always say maintaining healthy natural hair is so much work they would rather have it relaxed/permed. Come on. Hard work never killed anyone and besides, it is not hard at all if you take it a step at a time. The problem lies when you want to do all those changes in one day. You cannot start from a couch potato to a comrades’ marathon runner in one day. So hey! Take it a step at a time and by the time you actually get where you want to be, you will wonder how you went through it all. Where there is a will, there is a way.

This is for information only. The buck stops with you and remember whatever you decide to do, stick with it for, I would say a minimum of three months to notice any real change. However if it causes adverse side effects like balding, excessive shedding or nausea I would advise you stop immediately. You do realize you need to consult your doctor/health practitioner before you make any major changes to your lifestyle or diet.

Till then

Keep on keeping on.

PS. Look out for the coming posts.
