Johannesburg, 10 May 2021 – The who’s who of the entertainment industry ascended at the Emoyeni Estate for the unveiling of the Darling Hair Winter Throne Collection this past Friday, 7 May 2020. The event was hosted by Mapaseka Koetle-Nyokong of the TV Series, Scandal with a surprise performance by Limpopo’s rising star best known for her songs “Tshanda Vhuya” and “Matorokisi, Makhadzi.
The event saw the unveiling of the #DarlingWinterCrown Hair Styles with the launch of Empress Collection closures, Curls Maintenance Spray now added to all Empress Curls, new grey colours for winter in key Crochet Styles which include Soft Dreds, Marley Kinky & Rough Dreds. The hairstyles were showcased in a form fashion show. The hair was paired with African inspired fashion from the Creative Director of CHEPA, Fatima Metsileng. The show stopper was the new Purple Passion Twist Crochet used to create “Distress Locs”.
Additionally, Darling Hair had a hairstyling competition at the event where they gave seven hair salons the opportunity to win R20 000. The stylist were asked to pick a box, with no knowledge of what hair was in the box. Once the boxes were picked they were given one hour to create a hairstyle with the latest Darling Hair Winter Throne Collection and showcase it in front of guests and three judges. The judging panel consisted of Phumzile Baliki who is the Marketing Manager of Darling Hair, Siphesihle Ndaba of the hit TV show, Gomora and Legendary Hair Icon, Pat Managa.
Celebrities in attendance included Ama Qamata of Netflix’s Blood and Water International Series, Tshenolo Seabi from Isithembiso and Scandal fame, and the cast of Mzansi Magic’s number one telenovela, Gomora.
