(These products we given to me free of charge to do an honest review and to give away to the readers of Natural Sisters.)
Some weeks ago, in January of this year, I was blessed with a package, delivered directly to my desk. And in the package, were these sweet scented skin care products from Mamoa. The package had a Stretch marks fade lotion, moisturising butter, a Body butter and a hand cream.
So I went on to try the products of course or I would not have been writing to you about them now. I tried the body butter and the stretch marks fade lotion and I love these two already. So I am going to review only the two.
Body butter.
The ingredients are great. First is water and right next to it is Shea butter. My love feelings are triggered already right there. Then there’s cocoa seed butter, grape seed oil and other fatty alcohols. So the stuff in this butter is what I don’t mind putting on my skin.
The feel is a soft creamy consistency that spreads easily on the skin. It does not have a greasy feeling after you have used it and the skin is noticeably softer and smoother soon after use and all day long. I have very dry skin and since I started using Mamoa body butter, I have not needed to remoisturise my skin along the day. Even when used on my hands, the body butter does not rinse completely so the hands are not completely dry after washing them. I can afford to miss a few applications after visiting the bathroom because my hands still feel okay.
The scent is lavender and I think it’s a bit on the strong side. This could be because I don’t really like lavender to begin with and also that I am not a fan of strong scents. I easily feel overwhelmed by them. So if there is anything I can take away from the body butter, is the strong scent. I light lavender could have been just fine for me. But again, this is just me, otherwise the few gal friends I have asked say it smell magnificent.
Would I buy Mamoa body butter again?
Indeed. I have been using Nivea body lotion with Shea butter now for over 8 years mainly because of how it makes my skin feel afterwards. It however does not have as much Shea butter as the Mamoa body butter and in winter, I often have to add some more Shea butter to my Nivea lotion for extra boost on moisture or abandon it until spring. Dry skin woes. So, this is a keeper. I’m sold
Stretch Marks Fade
The packaging says that it helps to reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Well, I have seen a slight reduction in the appearance of my stretch marks especially now after using it for more than a month. The cream feels good applying it everyday as well. It also spreads easily and lightly. I use the Mamoa Stretch marks Fade once everyday.
The ingredients are also top notch including glycerin, coconut oil, Shea butter and water as the first 4 and not particularly in that order. I can take the lavender scent on this one, it’s not as strong as the body butter one. My skin feels so smooth, moisturised and well taken care of. It’s so lovely
Will I buy this product?
This is more like a nice to have product and not exactly a must have on my list of priorities. So, although it feels really good on my skin, I really can’t afford the luxury and my stretch marks can wait. Trophies of having 3 babies and carrying the weight that followed.
