Finally I managed to do another protective style for winter and by my standards, I did well as far as protecting my hair is concerned this winter. And I also let my hair out for a breather long enough in between. So this time I did mini twists with added hair, Marley hair and I am loving it.
I am in my third week already and someone clap hands for me. I have not stayed with a protective style this long this year. I had them done by Lita who does my hair most of the times I’m either too lazy to do it myself or the style is too complicated for me. She does not braid too tight and although she did not know how to handle natural hair at first, she has learnt through the years (4) how to do it. I still stretch my hair and detangle thoroughly before I let her touch my hair. Which is why I stretched my hair and wrote about it here.
Day & night routine
I style my twists once in 2 to 3 days in loose styles. I do not use any accessories though, including pins as I find them uncomfortable with these. I may use ponytail holders here and there. I will post a video I did on some of the styles I do soon. I also spritz my hair mostly in the evening, massage my scalp if the style I have on allows for that and then wear a bonnet before going to bed. In the morning, I may spritz again before leaving for work or I will just make my edges tidy using an old tooth brush or a baby hair brush and I am ready to go out. I still wash my hair about once a week. It makes my twists look even older but I cannot do without washing my scalp. Watch out for a post on how to wash hair in a protective style soon.
This is all for today and the rest about my protective style, please watch the video and please let me know what you think. If there is anything you would like me to improve on the videos, please let me know and please put all your questions down in the comments as well including any comments.
Many blessings to you and yours.
