It is here again, the Africa International Hair Extravaganza and this year it is going to be on the 12th of September 2015 at Vodaworld, Midrand. To be able to host an event, four years successively without fail is particularly commendable by any standards considering what it takes to host an event of this nature and at such a magnitude. Well done to AIHE team.
This year’s event is a one day event instead of the three day gig they used to host. All aspects remain the same though as in the three parts of the Africa International Hair Extravaganza which is the Hair Conference, Hair Expo and Hair Awards. The conference is in the morning, which boasts of intelligent and smart speakers, tackling issues that affect the hair care industry and the consumer. Topics on the line up are:
- Best Practise for Ethnic Hair Processing/Relaxing
- Traction Alopecia
- Rights of Stylist & Salon Owners according to the Labour Law
- Skills Development in the Hairdressing Industry
- Natural Hair Styling & Aftercare
The Hair Expo will be in progress all the time even during the conference. Talk of South African brands exhibiting, proudly South African, locally manufactured products, local entrepreneurs making a difference, and all that good stuff. DTI is also sponsoring a number of brands to exhibit which I think is a chance to support our local brands that contribute to the employment and the economy as whole. Thank you so much DTI for the support that you give to SMME’s. Much appreciated. The last thing on the agenda is the Hair Awards which will start at 20.00 hrs and that is when the winners in the African Hair space will be announced in glam and funfair.
If anything, the Hair Expo is the main thing for most people and make sure you don’t miss it. Talk of different brands in one place where you can compare, ask questions and make informed decisions about your way forward with regards to your hair. There will be demo’s as well and stylists will be showcasing their creativity. To top it all, this year’s event is free, like totally free if you register online before the date. Otherwise, if you wait to show up at the door, it will cost you R50 for admission. So you’ve got to hurry and get yourself registered. Who doesn’t want to attend to a free event? Hands up!
This year I’m particularly interested in the Hair Expo because, Natural Moisture is exhibiting. So make sure you come to our stand close to the entrance and say hello. WE will have a sale going on, consultations, and you can ask away all those questions you have wanted answers to for so long.
