I hope you are well and settling in nicely into winter. Boots and coats all out here in Jozi. If you follow Natural Sister or Natural Moisture on Facebook or @ruthmafupa on Instagram, you may have heard how disappointed I was to miss the NMB hair and beauty event in PE. I was so devastated, you have no idea. After planning for so long, let alone tell everyone who cared to hear that I was going to be in PE for Workers day for the event, and only to miss our first flight, trying to get onto the next and that being so delayed we only got to the venue at 3:30 pm. And PE being PE, they were already packing up. The event was all over. Done. Finished. Lessons learnt. Lessons learnt. Next time, I’ll fly in the day before.
The event started at 12 midday. I had managed to book morning flights and we were supposed to hit PE at 8:30 in the morning. Get our renteal car and sight see a bit before the event. That was my plan and I seriously thought it was full proof. BUT, on the day, was delayed leaving home and got to the airport 35 minutes before the flight was due to depart. Lo and behold, OR Tanbo airport or flysaa rules had changed effective from the 1st of April 2016. All domestic flights boarding gates closed 40 minutes before departure time. In the rush and panic, did not even look at other carriers to see which one still had seats and was leaving early. Got FlySAA tickets for departure at 10:45. This was the flight that only left Johannesburg around 1 pm. So we were terribly late. Touched down just before 3 pm, got our car and rushed to the event.
I was only able to to see the event organiser and for the those who had pre-ordered, we managed to call them or they called us and managed to meet them the next day to hand over their products. Thanking them for the support and being so understanding.
Although I was down and sad for missing the event, my spirits were quickly raised because of the breathtaking place PE is. I was with my young sister who had traveled all the way from Zimbabwe and she also enjoyed PE big time. We’re already arranging another trip to beautiful PE with the family. The accommodation is also very reasonable. We slept at Hallack Manor, a 4 star guest house not too far from town, like a walking distance. We paid R650 per room per night including breakfast for a spacious room with a queen bed and an extra single bed. The bathroom was also very clean and for that price, the service was real value for money.
I’m not very adventurous with food, my hubby is the one who tries out new places and dishes. I prefer going for what I know and trust. So for dinner, we had Nando’s and lunch the next day, we went to Ocean Basket. They are both along Beach road/street. So all in all, PE impressed us.
We’re running a special though for all you guys and an extra for PE guys at Natural Moisture. Free shipping for all your orders if you are in PE. Port Elizabeth was sunny, warm, windy, cold, raining and everything in between while we were there. Talk of coastal weather!!! Thanks for reading this far.
